LA is home to many a famous international star, some of them are a bit ‘underrated,’ and Disco House DJ Plastic Plates, is one of those people. He currently drops funky-fresh beats in some of the largest clubs around the world; yet, not many people state-side seem to have gotten the memo on how sick he is. Spinning everywhere from LA to Paris to Ibiza to Barcelona to Hamburg to Sydney, he is infecting the world with his disco house beatz and no one on the scene can touch him.
Plastic Plates, or Felix Bloxsom, comes to LA via Australia bringing with him some of the best new jams out there. Not only is he an amazing producer, pumping out new tunes and remixes as fast as possible, he also is an extremely talented drummer and percussionist who has worked with some of the largest names in music including: Mika, Sia, Empire of the Sun, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Kelly Clarkson, The Presets, Sneaky Sound System, and Leona Naess. His work with these amazing and talented artists showcases his talent and diverse sound, while setting him apart on the music scene.
His sound is unique and infectious, one that will have you dancing all day/all night while giving you a feeling of being in a disco club with a 2012 update and a super funky, get-down feel. His use of vocals is beautiful and upbeat while his disco back beats give you a positive feeling that just makes you want to dance and smile.
There is a dream-like quality to his music, being ethereal while making you get down and dance.
If you like funk/disco music in the slightest, then you will LOVE his sound and become addicted. He is the perfect hybrid of all of the music in the world that makes me want to get down and dance my pants off, with a perfect twist of weird.
He is currently touring in Europe and has standing gigs in clubs around the world. If you are one of the lucky people who live in LA, make sure to check him out, he can be found spinning the rooftop at the Standard Hotel when he’s in town.
