Released on new, but fast rising label FUXWITHIT, duo dope makes a solid mark with the single “Mild Drugs.” Experimental, unpredictable, but boasting a rhythmic flow that can’t be denied, dope is firing off on all cylinders on this one, dropping an unmerciful collection of sound design elements that will knock your socks off.
The ride that dope stitches together here is nothing short of trippy and impressive, the intoxicating blend of haunting melodies, gritty synths, and dirty percussion making for a head-bobbing, adrenaline-pumping experience that’s hard to get out of one’s head.
The Halifax-based talents have had a fast ride since embracing an identity that is bass-oriented. Bringing together the world’s of hip-hop and bass music, aspects of experimental bass, dub, rap, and grime can all be felt through the music that they make.
