Drum & Bass Well-Represented At Sochi 2014 Olympics

Currently competing at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic games, 27 year old Polish speed-skater Artur Was also happens to be a burgeoning Drum & Bass producer! Operating under the alias of “Voima”, Artur has posted a 10 original tunes on his SoundCloud, many of which dabble in a very distinctive neurofunk-style. Over the past few weeks, Artur has made two short releases, entitled the “Formula EP“, and “Infinite Dream/Stargate“, each comprised of two invigorating tracks. It doesn’t stop there for this accomplished athlete/producer, as he has yet another release scheduled for early in March.

Attending the second Winter Olympic games of his career, Artur Was competed in the Men’s 500m category, and finished 8th and 9th in his first and second speed skating races respectively, which took place on Monday, February 10th. Many people would agree that it is truly remarkable that Artur is able to maintain a thriving athletic career whilst flourishing as a producer, and I must commend his dedication to both his sport and his music.
