Drumcode Records celebrates its 250th release with a historic collaboration between two legendary techno mavens: Kevin Saunderson and Adam Beyer. E-Dancer – “Re:Generate” is a marriage of the music style’s proud roots, stemming from the genius of Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, and Derrick May (The Belleville Three), largely credited as the originators of Detroit techno; as well as representing a diverse spectrum of where the genre stands in 2021.
Additionally, the massive new release features remixes from the renowned Robert Hood, Special Request, TYGAPAW, DJ Bone, Amelie Lens, rRoxymore, DJ Minx (one of Detroit’s foremost pioneering female DJs), Rebuke, and many other artists, each putting their distinct spin on Saunderson’s collaborative project.
Initially Saunderson and Beyer discussed working together in 2019, the seeds of their labor finally coming to fruition last year when Wehbba delivered a standout edit of E-Dancer “Velocity Funk.” After that, the “Re:Generate” concept was conceived which honors the Black visionaries and innovators — Kevin Saunderson being one of many artists — who cultivated the scene and created something truly unique in Detroit’s budding underground and subsequently, the world. To commemorate the special release, a SOLD OUT Printworks show is set for London on October 2, 2021.
