Lifting our spirits on a cold and wintery day is the new bass warmer from Drunken Masters. Released through the pair’s own label Crispy Crust Records comes “On My Own,” a thickly textured bass jam with bags of style. They have sought out the talented Mothica, best known for tracks like “Mythic” and “Heavy Heart” to feature here, and she sounds awesome.
Drunken Masters are on great form too, pulling out drawn out melodies and glitchy riffs to lay as a foundation for Mothica’s drawling tones. Given some low-slung groove and deft rhythmicality, “On My Own” stands out as a seriously strong collaboration from this skilled bunch.
