It was a little over two weeks ago when Duke Dumont, the British sensation, invaded Output in Brooklyn. With NYC nightlife being based around the island of Manhattan, and places such as Pacha NYC and Webster Hall, Brooklyn nightlife has grown immensely over the past several years. The legend of Output has grown in its own sense becoming one of the most mysterious venues in night life. Having a strict no photo and video policy, the only way to truly experience the greatness of Output is to make that journey from Manhattan to Brooklyn.
Getting there around midnight, the sense of anticipation was immense for such an incredible DJ. With the line stretched around the corner and down the block, everyone knew what was about to go down and who was about to play. Through recent sets at the likes of Coachella and Seasons Festival in Vancouver, Duke Dumont has certainly made his presence known around North America. Coming on around 1 o’clock to a packed house, Duke Dumont got straight into his set. Throwing down track after the track, the crowd was absolutely loving everything being thrown their way. The vibe in the room was second to none and when the British producer played out his hit single “I Got U”, the crowd went into an absolute state of euphoria.
Playing one of the most flawless two hour sets in recent Output memory, the night was perfect. Duke Dumont did everything right and the crowd responded in exactly that way. Walking out of Output in the wee hours of the morning the buzz was most definitely still alive. Duke Dumont did his thing and us as fans can not wait till he comes back.
