Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, the Belgian duo currently taking the dance music scene by storm (even ranking 6th in this year’s DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ poll) have paired up with trance/progressive house legend, Ummet Ozcan to bring us their Tomorrowland mix of “Eat Sleep Rave Repeat”. These artists have transformed one of the most notable dance floor anthems of 2013 into a catchy, and energetic big-room tune designed to please crowds of festival-goers.
At 130 bpm, both artist’s characteristic styles are present in this mix, cleverly reworking that eccentric vocal sample that was omnipresent during this year’s festival season, as well as incorporating one of their signature big-room drops. This track takes a different approach to remixing Fatboy Slim and Riva Starr’s original acid house tune, and it differs greatly from other prominent remixes out there today. Although it takes on the typical big-room house style that many deem to be overused, or commercial, this remix is executed well, and demonstrates each artist’s proficiency and skill within this genre.
This mix was released today on Skint Records, and can be purchased through Beatport here.
