Most people have heard about the recent changes with Nevada’s Live Entertainment Tax (LET), which directly impacts the total cost for EDC Las Vegas this year, and many other live entertainment events throughout Las Vegas. Due to this change that goes into affect on 10/01/2015, Insomniac is having tickets go on sale this year for the earliest time ever on September 21st at 12pm PST to avoid the additional 9% tax that will be collected. The chart below helps to understand payment options for headliners:
Regardless if you are worried about paying the extra tax tomorrow or not, do not proscrastinate to buy your tickets. Every year they have been selling out quicker and quicker.
To help alleviate the costs so early before the festival, layaway plans will also be available, and those who make their first payment before October 1 will NOT be affected by the tax. As before, plans will consist of five installments, with a nonrefundable fee of $30 applied (upon your first payment) to all layaway purchases.
A charge of $40 will also be applied to all defaulted orders. That means if you don’t see your layaway plan through to the end, you’ll be charged a premium. In years past, defaulted layaway plans have resulted in lots of tickets becoming available very close to EDC weekend which is too late for many people to make last-minute arrangements. With this premium in place, Insomniac hopes to deter people who signed for tickets not to make the decision down the road to change their mind.
Tickets will be here. Set your alarms now, and we’ll see you at the speedway!
