Despite Insomniac Events CEO Pasquale Rotella announcing earlier this year about a possible return to Texas for EDC, Texas won’t be having an EDC any time soon.
In a tweet last night, Rotella answered a fan’s inquiry about another EDC Texas in 2014 due to difficulty to secure a proper venue for such a huge event.
The first time EDC was held in Texas was back in 2001 according to Electric Daisy Carnival archives. The second time around was ten years later in 2011. Despite the great turnout, EDC Texas in Dallas received a large amount of bad press after numerous problems including a death of an attendee and multiple hospitalizations. After the terrible ending for EDC Texas 2011, Insomniac held Nocturnal Wonderland festival in Austin, TX, April 2012.
It’s not clear whether or not Insomniac will continue searching for an appropriate venue in Texas for EDC in 2015 or for any later years, but Rotella’s love for his fans shows as he tells fans that he will keep on trying. Hope isn’t completely lost!
