Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Edison Cole is a young artist with a smorgasbord of talent. The 25-year-old artist who now lives in Los Angeles is not only a producer but a streamer and DJ as well. When he was 20, Edison relocated to Philadelphia to begin his music career. Just one year later, he performed at the most prominent venues that the tri-state area has to offer, such as Pacha NYC, Governors Island NYC, and Lit Ultrabar Philadelphia. After the role of direct support for premier artists like Borgore, 3LAU, Afrojack, and R3HAB, Edison decided to take his skills to the heart of LA.
Edison’s music can be described as up forceful yet uplifting, pumping up club dance floors and shocking festival crowds. Despite his music fitting into the bass genre, Edison utilizes components found in a variety of genres to forge his one-of-a-kind sound. “Need You Now” was the first release under the Edison Cole moniker and reached number 20 in SoundCloud’s “New & Hot” category. Edison’s 2019 original “Rebel” was a smashing success and The Chainsmokers opened with it at Ultra Music Festival that year. The quickly becoming household name in electronic music aims to continue the hot streak with his new release “Breathe”.
Brimming with ear-shattering dubstep, “Breathe” opens with a high-pitched melody that brings an energetic rush of future bass. As the song builds intensity, vocal cuts and looped bass sequences are distorted to create a heightened sense of liveliness. Then the drop hits: a cataclysmic wave of perfectly engineered dubstep. Through the riveting basslines and vintage dubstep elements “Breathe” is a rollercoaster ride made for nonstop headbanging.
