Every time we attend a concert, show or festival we get the chance to go on a euphoric journey of light and sound. When the show is over we usually say something along the lines of: “Wow [insert artist name] was totally amazing, that was the best show ever!”
Well, to think that show went the way it did was solely due to the artist is incorrect. Over the last five months, Doug Bogan and Mike Koziel have traveled the country finding out everything it takes to put on a successful music event.
Their documentary Heard But Not Seen, released yesterday, is a first-of-its-kind, behind-the-scenes documentary on the electronic music industry. They seek out the things the concertgoer doesn’t see and try to find all the answers by meeting with the various pieces of this puzzle: sound designers, set/visuals designers, booking agents, concert promoters, blog owners, electronic artists, etc.
This documentary gives a greater appreciation to the complexity, time, and money that goes into putting on a great show that will give fans a memory they won’t forget.
The full-length documentary was released in conjunction with the charitable campaign Cadence & Cause to help provide clean drinking water to those in need.
