Forget the fireworks, forget the ball drop; if you want to really live it up and bring in the new year with a BANG, then it’s highly encouraged to attend a New Years Eve concert or event. New Years Eve shows are usually very special for the artist playing and those attending, making the atmosphere of the night intense and filled with anticipation. Artists usually play some of their best sets during New Years Eve shows due to this chilling atmosphere. We’ve selected seven of the top electronic music events for you to possibly attend and make this New Years one to never forget.

Lights All Night (LAN) – Dallas, TX and Mexico City, Mexico -December 27 & 28

The annual 2-day festival in Dallas, Texas has continually been one of the pinnacle NYE events for EDM fans, and they upped the ante this year with a dual-event occurring in Mexico City, Mexico. While not much has been offered regarding the NYE event in Mexico City, the two days in Dallas will be huge, taking place inside the Dallas Convention Center with huge acts such as deadmau5, Kaskade, Above & Beyond, Krewella, Grizmatik, and many, many more big names in EDM. Decadence – Denver, CO – December 30 & 31

Decadence blew everyone away this year with two nights in Denver, Colorado of some of the biggest names in the electronic music realm- headliners include Bassnectar and Dada Life on the 30th, and Pretty Lights and Above & Beyond on the 31st. Add Tiesto to the mix with Dada Life and Bassnectar and you have one massive New Years Eve in the works. Each night will feature two “arenas”, with both Bassnectar & Pretty Lights having their own named arena, while Dada Life and Above & Beyond will both rock the ‘Global Dance Arena’. The Denver Convention Center has over 6,000 square feet of space and room to fit a ton of people. Along with all this, there will be food & beverage, smoking areas, multiple bars, ATMs, and more, topped off with excellent production. SnowGlobe Festival – South Lake Tahoe, California – December 28 – 31

If you’re on the west coast this winter, you will not want to miss SnowGlobe. Taking place on the ski resort of South Lake Tahoe, SnowGlobe is a unique festival in that it takes place outdoors with attendees donned in winter gear, usually with snow falling. It’s a rarity you ever see music in this environment, let alone seeing some world class acts like Tiesto, Kaskade, Snoop Dogg, Zeds Dead, Gramatik and more. They even have a third headliner whom they’ve yet to announce, but will surely be a big addition. With the beautiful atmosphere of Lake Tahoe coupled with great music and the energy of approaching NYE, SnowGlobe is a prime festival to attend.

Big Gigantic at the Roseland Ballroom – New York City, New York – December 30 & 31

The duo out of Boulder, Colorado has had a huge year, seemingly always touring and hitting big festivals this year like Electric Forest, SummerSet, Hangout, Buku, and even their own one-night event Rowdytown at Red Rocks in their home state. Now they are closing out an amazing 2013 for them in a huge way, playing two nights at the legendary Roseland Ballroom in NYC. Pretty Lights played here last year for two sold-out nights of some of the most memorable sets to date. Expect a same outing by Big G, as it’s expected they were really turn it up a notch, playing their hearts out and most likely dropping a ton of old, new and unreleased material. Big Gigantic live is high-energy and a lot of fun, so if you’re around NYC this will be a great choice for New Years. Get your tickets here.

Flosstradamus at the Riveria Theater – Chicago, IL – December 31

If trap is your thing, Flosstradamus will be surely throwing down full-force at the Riveria Theater in their hometown of Chicago. These two are on the top of the trap game right now and if you want to twerk your way into 2014, this is the place to do it. The riviera theater is an intimate theater with a 2,500 person capacity, so expect it to be a mass of energy inside. Tickets are on sale now.

Bassnectar NYE 360 – Nashville, TN – December 31

For the third year in a row, the Bassnectar team is bringing 360 of high-octane bass music to the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. If you’ve yet to see a Bassnectar show, this would be the perfect one to begin with; Lorin Ashton will be playing over two hours through his insane library of music, coupled with theatrics including tons of lighting and visuals. It’s not uncommon for a NYE set to get very emotional, and Bassnectar NYE is absolutely no exception; there was a point last year during Imogen Heap’s “Hide & Seek” when the entire arena was filled with lighters, an image not seen much in today’s live electronic music culture. Be sure to grab your tickets before they sell-out, which they definitely will.

Winter Galactic – East Rutherford, NJ – December 31st

If you’re looking for a NYE show with a variety of genres, Winter Galactic on the east coast is a great option. It takes place at the Izod Center, which is a massive indoor arena that can fit around 19,000 people. Featuring headliners Dada Life & Porter Robinson, as well as supporting acts W&W, Rusko, Cash Cash and Bambi, Winter Galactic will feature a sampler plate of EDM, ranging from Robinson and Dada Life’s electro-house, to the angelic trance of W&W and filthy dubstep of Rusko. It’s a bit on the expensive side but to be able to catch all of these artists in one night, it may be worth it. Grab your tickets starting Friday at 10AM.
