Just a few short days ago, EDMbiz 2015 unveiled their first phase of speakers and panelists that were expected to share their insights at the 4th annual Insomniac-hosted convention. The roster of speakers that were announced included some of the music industry’s best and brightest, such as the President of Electronic Music at Live Nation, James Barton, and CEO of Zappos.com and founder of Downtown Project, Tony Hsieh. Now, with EDMbiz fast approaching, Insomniac has unveiled the final programming and list of speakers that will be attending this year’s conference, and it promises to be the biggest yet.
Insomniac has always strived to push the envelope with EDMbiz, and this year’s conference will feature a number of panels discussing issues beyond the normal scope of EDM. One of the more interesting panel topics of the year is “Drugs in Dance Music: It’s Time to Talk,” which will welcome Dr. Adam Lund, founder of UBC Mass Gathering Medicine Interest Group, Dr. Dale Carrison, Professor/Chair of Emergency Medicine at University of Nevada School of Medicine, Maren Steiner, Director of Health & Safety at Insomniac, and the artist, B-Traits coming together to discuss one of the most pressing issues that has plagued dance music throughout its history.
Nicky Romero, Pretty Lights, and Oliver Heldens will be joining the already-announced Krewella, 3LAU, and Hook N Sling on the 4th annual Artist Panel, which will be moderated by KCRW’s Jason Bentley.
