While electronic dance music fans finish their flower crowns and drive to Sin City for Electric Daisy Carnival, the industry’s leaders will already be in Las Vegas for the fourth consecutive EDMbiz Conference & Expo at The Cosmopolitan from June 16-18. The conference features keynote presentations, panel discussions, and networking events, and past speakers include Pasquale Rotella, Hardwell and Kaskade. This year, however, EDMbiz has added two new contests focused on finding and promoting promising electronic dance music artists and ventures.
The EDMbiz Startup Contest will give five startups the chance to present their concept to various investors at EDMbiz. Interested startups should go here to submit their concept by June 2 11:59 p.m. PST, or for more information. The five finalists selected by Insomniac and Digital Music News will be announced in early June.
The Best Record/ A&R Contest, hosted by Wavo, Insomniac and EDMbiz, is another new addition to EDMbiz this year, which will launch one promising artist’s career by releasing his or her original track on Insomniac Records. Submitted original tracks will be voted on online before they are considered by EDMbiz’s panel of judges. Deadline for entry is May 31 11:59 p.m. PST, and open voting will take place on Wavo.me from June 1 – June 5 before judges select the finalists who will get the chance to present their tracks to a panel of senior A&R executives at EDMbiz. Artists interested in submitting an original track can visit here.
Afrojack will start this year’s event at the official EDMbiz kick off party, held at Omnia nightclub on June 16. Badge holders will enjoy expedited entry, and will receive complimentary entry before midnight. EDMbiz’s Closing Night Party with Alesso will take place at the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan on Thursday, June 18. Doors open at 8 p.m. and EDMbiz badge holders will receive free entry until 9:00 p.m. Additionally, badge holders will have access to Insomniac nightclub events and parties held in concordance with Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas from June 19-21.
