RIGOONI took the time out to chat about growing up, his creative process, advice for rising artists, and more.
How do you think your music has evolved since you started producing at age 11?
Music has always been finding its own way. With each new production, I reinvent myself and mature along with it. I believe that I need to be in constant improvement for me to be a good tool for music to manifest itself in the most fluid way possible.
Can you talk about your creative process behind the remix of “A Poem for Every Day of the Year”?
On my mental screen when working, I always imagine the track being played in the open sky or on the beach. With that in mind, the music happens. The creative process for “A Poem for Every Day of the Year” ended when I played it at Green Valley and saw the audience’s reaction. It was time to collect the last adjustments, write it down, and finish it in the studio!
How did you meet Edu Schwartz, and what about his latest track made you know it was perfect for remixing?
I know Edu for the great work he has been doing for the Words Not Enough label. When I received the promo for the original “A Poem For Every Day Of The Year,” I immediately started to have ideas on how to honor this beautiful work by Edu.
What was it like working with David Hohme’s label, “Where The Heart Is Records”?
I can only thank everyone on David’s team for believing in my art.
What’s your advice for aspiring young artists to achieve the success you’ve enjoyed?
Go to the dance floor! ?
Looking back at your career so far, what are you most proud of, and what’s next for RIGOONI?
I’ve been meeting a lot of good people on this journey. I just have to thank you for everything! I bring cool news for the next few months… an EP, maybe?
