Rich in talent and musical diversity, Mau5trap, the label founded by Canadian dance music icon, Deadmau5, is renowned for presenting a wide range of artists who continuously pump fresh, and innovative tunes into the scene. Analogously, they have just released a massive new track from burgeoning producer Eekkoo entitled “Towers”, and it is sure to be very well-received by House-music fans. Staying true to the timeless House style, and exhibiting the classic sound of the genre, this tune features a grooving, cleverly-constructed melody, which is expressed using a range of intense, and vibrant synths and sounds.
29-year-old Jonathan Doyon, the proprietor of the alias of Eekkoo, will definitely be one to watch in the coming months, having already made an impressive debut into the dance music scene. With an extensive background in sound engineering and teaching sound design (which undoubtedly shines through in his music), the Montreal native’s productions managed to catch the attention of Deadmau5 himself, who discovered him through SoundCloud. Having artfully demonstrated his proficiency with production, as well as having presented his distinctive, and innovative sound, Eekkoo was the first artist that Joel [Deadmau5] followed on the site.
Since his discovery, and exclusive signage to the Mau5trap label, Eekkoo’s track “Lekture” was featured on the We Are Friends 2 compilation, in addition to releasing his own self-titled EP in December of 2013. Not surprisingly, he has earned support from numerous other DJs and producers, including Fehrplay, Jeremy Olander, Matt Lange, Paris & Simo, Prok & Fitch, Norin & Rad, Maor Levi, and Gabriel & Dresden. Quite notably, Eekkoo also played at the highly anticipated “Mau5trap vs Pryda” event, which took place in Miami this past March.
Fans will definitely be waiting in eager anticipation to hear more from Eekkoo, who is undeniably on the road to becoming a highly prominent figure in the electronic music scene. Check out his track “Towers” below:
