Dutch producer Eelke Kleijn has released his third album Moments of Clarity, on his imprint DAYS like NIGHTS. Made up of 12 beautifully crafted tracks, it’s a euphoric journey from the opening “Maschine 1.0” to “1,000 Lights” — originally composed as part of a massive 670 drone installation at Burning Man 2018 in memory of its founder, Larry Harvey — straight through to the ambient closer “René.” The entirety of the work emulates his background as a composer and skillful knowledge of piano, guitar, and bass, fusing together elements of Italo-disco and melodic dance floor beats that flow from trance feels to darker techno synth rhythms, and back again.
All in all, Moments of Clarity is stunning. It’s the type of album you want to consume as a whole, whether you’re out on a long drive or in a relaxing open-air space, and allow your soul to drift along through the atmosphere of each and every piece.
As Eelke Kleijn continues to pave an illustrious path as an artist, he’s already reached great heights in his career. He’s scored for a number of Hollywood blockbusters including Rush, Parker, and This Means War and holds two previous artist albums in his back pocket.
