Backwoods Music Fest is coming to Stroud, Oklahoma this Labor Day weekend. With only a week to go, we are starting to get really excited. Chatter is up on their fan Facebook page and we are starting to see the festival come to life! This festival is very special because of the creative lineup that they have given us. How many times will you be able to see you saw Odesza in a crowd of 8,000? Considering a ton of their headlining acts have blown up in the past year, you are in for a treat with this festival.
In anticipation of the show, we have compiled a list of eight top up and coming acts for you to catch during your stay at Backwoods. Don’t miss out on these!
Maka (Novaspace)
You must check out Maka aka Novaspace at 11:45 on Sunday at Meadowland. Maka is known for his Billboard hit with fellow progressive house artist, Tydi. This Swedish progressive house artist will tear the house down!
Solstis
Straight out of Chicago, this electronic duo will be throwing down at Backwoods at 4:45pm on Saturday at The Meadow. Solstis has performed at huge festivals including Electric Forest. Solstis is known for their diverse music selection, so don’t miss out on a chance to dance to a variety of remixes and originals.
Washed Out
If you haven’t heard of Washed Out yet, you are in for a real treat. This mainly indie artist will pull out all of the stops for his DJ set. Usually performing with a chill, vibe Washed Out is going to be perfect for his late-night act. Catch him at 11:45pm on Friday at The Meadow.
Solidisco
Solidisco will be performing at 12:15am on Saturday at The Meadow. Known as a pop infused funk group, this Buffalo native duo will keep you groovy all weekend. Solidisco’s latest hit includes a remix of a Chromeo song. This group reminds us of pop-funk artists like Viceroy.
Kodak to Graph
Kodak to Graph is well-versed in all things future bass. If you love getting down to synth beats, this act is for you. Featured on Thump and Stereogum, this act is making headlines all over the blogosphere. Catch Kodak to Graph at 2am on Friday at The Meadow.
Fractal Sky
Fractal Sky reigns from deep in the heart of Arkansas. If you love GRiZ, Gramatik, and other Colorado-inspired acts, check out Fractal Sky. This electro-funk group is ready to throw down those PL inspired beats at 7pm on Sunday at Motherland.
Filabusta
Filabusta‘s funky beats will keep you dancing long into the night. Known as a funky bass artist, Filabusta is ready to entrance you with his originals and remixes. Catch his set at 9:45 pm on Saturday at Elevate.
Liquid Stranger
Liquid Stranger’s heavy dub sound is exactly what we’ve been looking for at this predominately funky lineup. Liquid Stranger’s sound has evolved from the first time we have heard him into well polished dub. Catch LS at 9:30pm on Sunday at Elevate.
