Insomniac Events revealed today the dates and location for the first ever Electric Daisy Carnival Chicago, or simply EDC CHI.
The event will take place on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26, as expected (after seeing the “Future Sound Music Festival” scheduled for the same weekend go down in flames). The event will be set up at the Chicagoland Speedway, where artists will perform on 5 stages. Overnight camping will be available adjacent to the festival grounds, making this the first EDC to include such an option. Given Chicago’s temperamental weather patterns, we’re not sure how this will turn out – but it’s an interesting idea.
Tickets will go on sale on January 23 at 12 PM Central at a price of $175 for a 3-day pass and $299 for a VIP (21+) pass before service fees. Single day tickets will become available closer to the festival date. Camping and a regular pass will cost $295, or $419 with a VIP pass. Those who choose to camp out are able to go freely between the festival and campgrounds throughout the weekend.
