As the wars (marriages, and deaths) wage on in the hit HBO show “Game of Thrones” as families fight for the Iron Throne, those looking for a more beautiful, peaceful, artistic, loving, and musical kingdom (seriously, are there only two songs in all of Westeros?), Electric Forest’s Monarch Program might be the diplomatic contest for you.
Formerly known as the King and Queen contest, the Monarch Program has evolved into something truly in need of a worthy ruler. There are royal perks (I’ll get to them!), but the question at the heart of the program, as it is for any up-and-coming politician/ruler, is what would you change if you ruled The Forest and what difference could you make with the support of Forest HQ? In your campaign pitch, the Forest HQ ask you to tell them what you wish to change, improve upon, or create. They also want to hear some ways you’d like to manifest the goodness you just spoke about. Forest HQ can’t have empty campaign promises after all, and certainly no Joffrey Baratheons either.
The perks include the now-famous royal golf cart that you will use around the Festival grounds, $1000 to make your projects reality (however fantastical they may be), 4 Good Life VIP Tickets, and of course your royal portrait featured online. The contest opened just yesterday, April 15, and goes until May 11th. To enter, you must submit a 5-minute video. Check out the link here for full details on how to enter!
I’ll be attending the Forest this year, and I’m looking forward to meeting our future Monarch. Good luck!
