Here at WRR it’s no secret we’re stoked for this year’s iteration of Electric Zoo at Randall’s Island Park in New York City. The lineup is huge, there are over a dozen after parties, and tickets are selling like wildfire.
But what about those of us (this blogger included) who can’t make it out to the festival this year? Fear not, Made Event has your back. Electric Zoo Radio, which premiered this past Friday, July 26th, will run every subsequent Friday at 1:00 PM (with reruns Mondays at 4PM) on SiriusXM’s Electric Area station. The program will broadcast previous EZoo sets, music from this year’s EZoo artists, and exclusive interviews and specials with names like Tiësto, Avicii, Hardwell, Krewella, A-Trak, Steve Aoki and Sander van Doorn. The culmination of the series? Live broadcasts of Electric Zoo from Radndall’s Island Park all Labor Day Weekend long.
While SiriusXM has broadcast sets from EZoo since 2009, this is the first year they’ve partnered with Made Event on such a large scale. Sirius President Scott Greenfield had this to say regarding the partnership:
“The launch of Electric Zoo Radio and our upcoming live broadcasts from this year’s Electric Zoo Festival continues our commitment to broadcasting the best electronic dance music from the world’s top DJs for our subscribers. SiriusXM has established itself as the leading broadcaster of EDM across multiple satellite and online channels and we are looking forward to bringing this year’s Electric Zoo Festival to our millions of subscribers across the country.”
For non-SiriusXM subscribers, this simply means it’s time to prepare for a bevy of radio-rip sets from EZoo with endless “Electic Area! SiriusXM!” watermarks. Pete Tong eat your heart out.
Official Travel Packages, General Admission 3-Day Passes, VIP Experience 3-Day Passes, Platinum Experience 3-Day Passes and Single Day Passes are available now on Electric Zoo’s official website.
