The animals of New York City’s most infamous 6th boro have been waiting patiently long enough. At 10:30 this morning, Electric Zoo festival finally announced its phase one lineup of their Big 10 anniversary edition. In true New York fashion, artists were unveiled via an NYC skyline pop-up card, an item sold by vendors on nearly every street corner in the city. One by one, players were revealed on subway line signs, with the big names showcased on the facade of the Empire State Building and other prominent landmarks.
Headliners celebrating ten years of all-things EZOO will be Martin Garrix, Marshmellow, Porter Robinson’s Virtual Self, and a very special set from Kaskade, one of the pioneers to headline Electric Zoo’s first-ever festival back in 2009. Joining them will be YEHME2, Mija, TroyBoi, Boombox Cartel, Manila Killa, a live act from Gryffin, Andrew Beyer, Justin Martin, Gramatik, Gabriel & Dresden, Illenium and many more.
The lineup’s second phase will drop the last two unannounced headliners, plus 50+ more artists that represent a variety of the most notable names to the underground scene’s most prominent players. Many of us are speculating that Above & Beyond will be one of the unknown headliners, as they have been a staple to Electric Zoo over the years. We’re also hoping that the festival will bring back a few originals who played Sunday School at its first 2009 showcase, like Danny Tenaglia, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Luciano and others.
Electric Zoo also announced its four of the six stage partnerships this year, including one of our all time favorites, the ever-so-famous Made Events Sunday School, along with Anjunabeats highlighting a special triple b2b set from label artists Ilan Bluestone & Jason Ross with Andrew Bayer, Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats, and Anna Lunoe’s HYPERHOUSE.
Electric Zoo returns to its decade-long stomping grounds at Randall’s Island on Labor Day Weekend, August 31-2, 2018. The past ten years have been nothing short of incredible. Every year, the experience is heightened, while staying true to its New York-styled roots and keeping a central focus on the most important aspect of it all — the music. We’re so excited to reunite with our favorite animals in the city that never sleeps, and we know you are too. Let the countdown begin!
