After canceling its third and final day upon recommendation from New York City, Made Event’s Electric Zoo Festival has released a statement regarding refunds for ticket-holders:
Unfortunately, the last day of this highly-anticipated festival was cancelled after serious health concerns were raised following the deaths of two festival-goers, and the hospitalization of four others in critical condition. Both deaths are assumed to be linked to the use of MDMA; however, dehydration may have been a contributing factor as well. The following statement from the Office of the Mayor was released earlier today:
This was certainly a tragic and disappointing ending to such a high-profile festival, and hopefully lessons were learned for the future.
