When Electric Zoo announced that they were adding a second mainstage in 2013, I wondered where the hell they were going to put it. Friday of the festival was maybe at half or even a third of the capacity of Saturday and Sunday when there’s hardly any room to move around.
It appears that the second mainstage is going on top of the hill that was a VIP area last year and home to that chill area where you could just sit down and listen to the booming sounds from the Hilltop Arena. I remember sitting there last year with friends ask Rusko went on and it was very enjoyable just being able to sit down and listen in almost complete clarity to his set.
That’s changing though and I’m sure Made Event evaluated all of the different concerns when decided to add a new stage and where they were going to put it. Don’t take it lightly when I say that EZoo is the best run festival I’ve ever been to.
What adding a second mainstage does is spread the crowd when two headliners are playing. So the closing acts split will include Avicii & Knife Party, Tiesto & Bassnectar, and Armin van Buuren & Steve Aoki. Each represent very different styles of music and should make each crowd even better should you choose to visit the mainstage.
