Over the next few months the Loci label will give an intimate group of people in a handful of cities an unbelievable experience, as the label just announced a showcase tour with Emancipator as the headliner. The supporting artists include Tor who recently released a new album “Blue Book“, Edamame who unlike his name brings a unique flavor experience to your ears instead of mouth, and Lapa a.k.a. Ilya will not only have his set, but he will also join Emancipator on stage.
The Loci label really tries to find balance and cohesiveness with all of the artists they sign to their label, and they exemplify that with this lineup.
Doug Appling a.k.a. Emancipator (who started the Loci label in 2012) will no doubt pull out all the stops for this tour by putting the passion and commitment he has for music into every detail. The most meticulous aspect is the care he put into handpicking the venues for the tour, choosing them based on their intimacy. The raw elemental feel of the room will bring all the attendees a one of a kind experience.
Over the past couple of years Emancipator has focused a lot on working with an ensemble, but for this tour will just be focusing on the bare necessities bringing only Ilya (Lapa) to the stage with him.
When asked about the tour Emancipator had this to say, “Loci is the plural of locus, which is a focus point. It’s a collection of points, the same way each artist on the label is a point in the musical universe. Loci is the meeting point, a platform where we can share our art collectively, and we’d like for this tour to be another series of points where we share this music with you in a live setting.”
