Something Wicked is only a week away. We wanted to make sure that you have all of the information needed to have a fun and successful Halloween festival weekend. Many festivals abide by the same guidelines, but each has their own way of doing things. We want to be able to provide you with the most thorough guide to help you rock your weekend.
Something Wicked will be held on Sam Houston Racepark on October 25th & 26th. The festival opens each day at 2:00pm and ends at 12:00am.
2 Day Schedule
Day One
Day Two
Schedules will be available at the entrance and bigger schedules will be posted around the grounds. You can also download the iOS app for an on-the-go schedule and map.
Artists You Must See
Obviously you must see Bassnectar, Dillion Francis, Martin Garrix, and Kaskade. I would suggest you take a look at some of the non-headliners like Liquid Todd, Cash Cash, Cedric Gervais, Bro Safari, Madeon, and Tchami. Other artists that you must see include Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus, Deorro, and A-Track.
Stages
There are three stages at Something Wicked- Mystic Meadows, Bass Crypt, Shadowlands Stage, and Beatport. These stages are tailored to specific artists and sounds to create great vibes throughout the weekend. The Mystic Meadows stage and Bass Crypt stage are interchangeable from Saturday to Sunday. On Saturday, Mystic Meadows tailors to those euphoric synth sounds. Artists performing at Mystic Meadows include Cosmic Gate, Liquid Todd, and Arnej. On Sunday, Bass Crypt is for those dirty bass lovers. Bass Crypt artists include Excision, Kill Paris, and Bro Safari.
Shadowlands and Beatport are Something Wicked’s two main stages. Beatport, named after the infamous music website, is hosting eclectic bass heads such as Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus, and Borgore. Shadowlands is hosting the headliners of each night. This will be the largest and most populated stage with acts such as Bassnectar, Dillon Francis, Kaskade, and Martin Garrix.
Non-Music Things to Do
Something Wicked is offering many activities aside from their amazing lineup. Their hyped photo booth will be available. Make sure to take your photo, which can be instantaneously added to social media before you hit the stages. There will be meet and greet tents around the venue, so make sure you note those and the artists that will be making an appearance. These will be announced during the festival. A general store will be available if you may have forgotten anything important while in the festival grounds. There will be plenty of art installations and decorations to entertain those zombie brains. A non-alcoholic Halloween themed bar will be available to taste some witches brew.
What to Eat and Drink
Something Wicked has partnered with some of Houston’s finest food trucks and vendors. There is something for everyone to eat or drink. They have even catered to vegetarian and vegan festival goers. Some places to check out include The Waffle Bus, Tica’s Tacos, and Top Dog of Texas Gourmet Hot Dogs. There will be places to grab booze, beverages, fair food, and retail items around the venue as well. Make sure you bring cash, as you don’t want to have to pay those outrageous ATM fees!
Navigating the Festival Grounds
The festival will be somewhat contained as the grounds are similar to EDC Las Vegas. Something Wicked is on a huge horse track, with stages throughout. It will be easy to walk and they are working on art installations to make the venue as spooky as possible. Attached is a parking lot, but make sure you bring cash and expect to pay upwards of $20-30 depending on how close you park.
