Bristol born and bred experimental DJ Hugh Pescod will be welcomed into the dark arches of London’s finest electronic space Fabric next week. The club’s next edition of FABRICLIVE features Redlight’s transformative house and bass sound that has emerged since the start of this decade.
Formerly known as DJ Clipz, Pescod represented the UK underground electro scene from which he also spent ten years excelling in the drum and bass area and that is where he started to gain popularity. The name change to Redlight signalled his experimentation phase and he became known as an artist that was reluctant to make two tracks in the same style.
2009 saw the release of his EP Lobster Boy and his fame led to the collaboration with Ms Dynamite with “What Are You Talking About?” the year after. Garage-inspired track “Get Out My Head” charted at no. 18 in 2012 after he was signed to Universal and 90’s throwback club classic “Lost in Your Love” reached no. 2.
Last year was big for Redlight with a menagerie of eclectic remixes as well as the release of the New Flows album and Templates, Vol. 1. FABRICLIVE expects renditions from 2015’s Colour X to come from the bubbling stage and will be joined by Oneman and Roska in Room One on Friday 24th February too.
