Up-and-coming NYC group Fight Clvb dropped a new video for their mouthwatering single “Shut Down.” Fight Clvb consists of three members: Carly on vocals, plus Mystero, (who chooses to conceal his identity,) and Sav, who hold down the decks. Together the trio form a refreshing entertainment combination that is filling a niche in today’s EDM scene. In other words, there are few electronic groups or solo DJs who: 1. Are female or have female group members, and: 2. Include live vocal elements during a set. There’s a few, but not enough.
With that said, “Shut Down” easily captures your attention. As clips pass of Fight Clvb traveling and performing, it seems the trio meld well together and are genuinely doing what they love. Mid-way through the video, it’s clear that outstanding vocals and production is the fuel behind their relaxed and satisfied appearance. The bridge and chorus’s of “Shut Down” are down-right fun and the drops are raw, but never over-powering, allowing the vocals to lead the musical experience. “Shut Down” proves that a little dynamism and innovation is all it takes to get recognized, remembered, and get your music heard.
