Here we have some more free Valentine’s Day music, this time from Figure. ‘Battles and Castles’ is one of his more melodic tunes and after holding on to it as an instrumental for so long, he sent it over to Qwel – and underground rapper – to finish it off.
The quote below tells the story, but in my opinion Qwel’s verses complete demolish this record. They fit flawlessly not only with the tracks style and sound, but with Figure’s visions and personality.
I made this instrumental almost 2 years ago , it started as a song for my girlfriend and day by day burnt more of a hole on my desktop as I looked the right vocalist for it. I finally reached out to Qwel whom I fully trusted to cover all bases on this one. 2 days after sending him the track , he sent back the perfect verses , referencing video games at every turn all while keeping the theme alive.
