It’s official. Flight Facilities just crawled inside me, dropped off enough good vibes to share and reinvigorated my soul with audible allusions that date back years before the immaculate conception which landed me here today. Not only is this hour long mix a timeless collection of soul laden dance tunes from the age of funky disco, it also acts as a chronological alignment of landmark political and societal references. Example: An introduction that blends Superstition with Richard Nixon’s 1972 State of the Union address. Creations like this undoubtedly evoke emotion, patriotism, nostalgia and perhaps even fond memories for someone who may have lived through the period. Take some time and go bridge the generational gap with one of your elders – I genuinely mean that.
Tracklist and an address from Flight Facilities after the jump. Also, note that this is only the first installment in a set of decade mixes. : )
