Today, Flight Facilities presented the second installment of their “Decade Mix” series with triple j Mix Up Exclusives. We featured the first installment (listen) a couple weeks back – one of the most unique and genuine approaches to collective music anywhere. Aside from euphoric nostalgia, these mixes are intricately designed to portray both landmark events in history and the music which defined those moments, chronologically.
FF almost wrote a novel to describe their creative process which can be read here. A basic summary was provided as well:
4 mixes, 4 decades of music, in the order in which it came out.
Each set represents the music of 10 years and moves chronologically through time.
The first mix is 1972 – 1982.
The second, 1982 – 1992
Third, 1992 – 2002
And lastly, 2002 – 2012
