Summer is almost here, and with it comes our favorite thing ever: festivals. Whether it’s going home to EDC Las Vegas, getting lost amongst the trees at Electric Forest or getting our butts into a tube and floating down to paradise at Float Fest. One of the top summer activities combined with a killer music experience is just impossible to pass up, plus it’s the only festival in the world like it. This July 20th and 21st, attendees can come on down South to Gonzalez, Texas for Float Fest’s sixth installment.
Just last week Float Fest announced a stacked lineup Major Lazer, Portugal. The Man, Gucci Mane, Kaskade, Zeds Dead, Ice Cube, Big Gigantic, and The Flaming Lips to just name a few. With a new location in Gonzalez, they also took on the task to make sure that no act overlapps the other and are providing two main stages so we can get every little ounce of music in our ears. The founder of Float Fest, Marcus Federman, had this to say about this year’s edition,
“We’re excited to bring back Float Fest for its sixth year and host some of the nation’s most talented artists to produce a unique experience in Gonzales. We’re thrilled to be moving to a new city and keep the tradition of our fest going. Gonzales is known as the birthplace of Texas independence and we can’t think of a better place to celebrate a festival rich in Texas traditions such as live music, floating the river, and camping.”
As with the tradition with floating down the river, they are opening the floodgates for attendees to start their travels on the Guadalupe River at 8 AM. Fans can then float on down to Cool River Ranch. Be sure to get both a floating ticket and a festival ticket so you can take part. Campsites and VIP options are also available, including 36 local food vendors, a Shade and Arcade Lounge, and a General Store for those that always forge that one thing.
Lastly, Float Fest will again be bringing back their Keep the River Clean Project to do their part in keeping the Guadalupe River beautiful. By partnering with local businesses, Float Fest cleanup efforts will include: mesh biodegradable trash bags available for free with tubes for floating, River Wranglers on canoes to help take trash bags, and the Float Fest crew cleaning up the river before, during, and after the festival with divers and boats to ensure a safe and clean zone.
We are beyond excited for this one and we highly encourage picking up your tickets ASAP. You can get festival passes, floating tickets, and camping passes here. Keep up to date with Float Fest through their socials below. We’ll see you on the river.
