Tangled Roots, the five-track EP from rising artist Floret Loret, encapsulates the listener through a wide-range of instrumental tracks that speak for themselves. There’s undoubtedly a common trippy thread that connects all the singles together, yet each tune carries it’s own theme and feel. “Cantuna” was a stand-out on Tangled Roots EP, rough synth work with dirty basslines align next to atmospheric synths, the juxtaposition enhancing the raw feel of the tune immensely.
“Tangled Roots is a representation of what goes on in my mind. I produce music as a coping mechanism. I tend to overthink a lot and I sometimes get lost in my own head. These threads of thought become intertwined with my expression of music. Music helps me untie those knots. Fortunately I have an amazing support system, not only through my family, but my close friends and mentors that keep me grounded whenever I begin to get lost in my own thoughts. I’ve found a coherent outlet to put these ideas into a form that make sense to myself and I’ve dedicated some of the songs to the people that I care about the most.” – Floret Loret
Florida-based Floret Loret is certainly experiencing an incline to say the least. Two of his works have been supported by Zeds Dead as well as featured on Deadbeats Radio. The soloist has opened for G-Jones and had his “Stay Hollow” remix supported by Ekai and Alison Wonderland. With A-list support under his belt and shows on the way, Floret Loret is surely one to keep an eye on.
