You’re sitting at the waters edge. Cabanas and daybeds all around you. Beautiful bodies lay atop towels, hovering in and out of the water, standing at the bar ordering drinks to quench their party thirst. Music bumps through speakers throughout the pool area and atop The JBL Soundstage, and you think to yourself… “Rehab was exactly what I needed.”
But this isn’t that kind of rehab. And the only counselors you will find here are bartenders and DJ’s, and that’s all you really need. This is Rehab at Hard Rock. Rehab has one amazing setup. You walk in and turn right and a massive pool awaits in front of you. Keep walking around and you run smack dab into a dance floor and a massive stage bumping some incredible future house. DJ Loczi, a Vegas local, is crushing the speakers and the dance floor with music so heavy, you’d expect to see the water rumbling like Jurassic Park. You can’t actually tell, because people are jumping, splashing, diving, and partying. All you can see are happy and smiling wet faces, drinking up and rocking to the beat.
Keep walking and you run into what looks almost like the grotto at the Playboy mansion. There is a large bar in front of you with an underground flowing river with waterfalls keeping the breeze going as blackjack and roulette tables stare at you in the face. But beyond the cave, another huge pool area with people lounging and dancing not in front of the stage, but still feeling it. Rehab has easily earned its stripes as being a Vegas pool party hot spot just be the design and setup alone.
The music stops, and you wonder.. “Is it finally that time?” And it is. You look up, and see Flux Pavilion is behind the decks, and as you jump joyfully from your seat into the pool, you swim as fast as you can to the waist deep water to prepare to be wrecked with bass and people splashing everywhere. Flux comes on and yells something, but you’re not sure what it is, because you’re too busy finding a good spot and watching people trample out of the pool and run up to the booth, screaming, yelling, and cheering for Flux. The first track commences, and you go buck wild; as does every other abled body in the pool. Water is flying, you join in as it’s a competition to see who can blind each other by the height and intensity of flying water as you can’t see a think, but you just keep splashing and dancing as hard as you can. This is what excitement and pure joy looks like.
Flux played all of the classics that we would expect that included originals and remixes including some of our favorites like Yogi+Skrillex, Jauz, and GTA. It was heavy, but it was Sunday of EDC Week, and this was exactly what we all came here for, wasn’t it?
This pool party was precisely what we needed to jolt our spirits and get our blood pumping again to completely destroy day 3 of EDC Las Vegas, the last and final day of our amazing adventure. Amazing scenery, a ridiculous setup, and one of the best artists to grace us with the bass. We can’t thank Rehab and Flux Pavilion enough for letting us be apart of this spectacular event and we hope to see you all next year. Cheers!
