Why You Should Be Following Jerry Folk

Young talent is always emerging. SoundCloud has become a cesspool for rising producers to showcase their abilities on a platform for all to see. And although the opportunities are vast, it takes a standout producer who manages to surprise with every production they touch to really sink in and become a household name. There’s a reason why Skrillex, Avicii, and deadmau5 are where they are today.

Jerry Folk, a slick, 19-year-old producer out of Oslo, has followed a similar suit. Bursting onto the scene just over a year ago, the Scandinavian young gun has built an aura around himself of feet-shuffling grooves and funk-injected bass riffs. His remixes have seen the top of Hype Machine on more than one occasion, and he continually adds hundreds of thousands of plays to his SoundCloud page without a doubt upon every release. He keeps his style new, fresh, and unexpected, and is sure to have his moment to make a career-changing move in the near future.

“But why follow him?” you might ask. We’ll break it down into three simple reasons why you should follow Jerry Folk’s future.

1) He doesn’t stop impressing

Ever since his first remix of “Ready or Not,” Jerry Folk has stricken the world with groundbreaking remixes and one originality that continually shifts the bar higher. His remixes all maintain similar themes, but he gives them their own character to be strong enough to stand on their own. His hybrid sound of deep house and nu-disco melds smoothly. Each time he releases a remix, nobody can tell you what will occur after hitting the play button for the first time.

2) He’s only just begun

Jerry Folk already has 11 tracks to his name, a style growing exponentially each day, and is currently signed to one of the world’s most famed dance music booking agencies. He isn’t even old enough to drink in the states yet but he has accomplished what some hope to in their lifetime. With only one original officially released, the young Norwegian producer has the world in front of him and seems to be strategically planning each of his moves to ensure only eminent success in the future.

3) His rise is parallel to that of deep house

Deep house rose into the spotlight only a short while ago after the EDM fans begun to grow bored of big room drop after drop. People are beginning to fall in love with groovier tracks that consistently heighten their experiences. Although his style is of a hybrid nature, Jerry Folk inevitably falls into the category of deep. As deep house gains traction, the doors of opportunity open for producers, and since Jerry Folk is organically growing his fan base, he is sure to make his way into the top-tier of deeper talents and become an influential force in the scene.
