Electronic Dance Music is finally getting its very own award show, a feat that has been a long time coming. With producers such as Diplo and Skrillex making huge waves at the Grammy’s it’s only fair that Electronic Dance Music joins the roster.
The inaugural Electronic Music Awards and Foundation will be presented on April 14th and the show will air Saturday, April 23rd at 9 p.m. PST on FOX. Seven categories were announced including: Best Single, Album, Radio Show, Festival, Club and DJ of the year, as well as Best New Artist.
The first ever show is set to include red carpet coverage, award presentations, interviews and live performances. Kygo scores two nominations for Best New Artist and Best Single of the Year going up against artists such as Carl Cox, DJ Snake, Calvin Harris ,The Chainsmokers and more.
