The Free Press Summer Festival will take place on June 1 and 2, 2013 at Eleanor Tinsley Park in Houston, Texas. This year’s lineup is a fusion of mainstage veterans and rising talent that will satisfy the zeal of casual and musical zealots alike.
The FPFS 2013 lineup includes The Postal Service, Bassnectar, Iggy and the Stooges, Passion Pit, TV on the Radio, Calvin Harris, Alabama Shakes, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Of Monsters and Men, Arctic Monkeys, Gogol Bordello, Social Distortion, 2 Chainz, Cat Power and Geto Boys. Other EDM performers include Borgore, Savoy, Super Mash Bros and Mord Fustang.
Tickets for the festival (on sale now) come in in general admission, fancy pants and high roller form. If you’re a fancy pants you get access to semi-baller air-conditioned tent with semi-good-looking people, while the high rollers automatically receive “Wizard status”. I love the cheekiness.
If I was anywhere near the Houston area, there’s no way I would miss this festival. It’s a chance to support the local music & arts scene while catching a few sets from an eclectic lineup over two days.
Note: The #1 Rule of booking Passion Pit at your festival continues.
