Future Music Festival Asia, which started on March 13th, hosted two successful days before having to call off day three. The event, which took place at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was advised to shut down the final day after six deaths were reported by police. However, the FMF statement below says that they’ve only confirmed one death.
Autopsies on the deceased revealed that ”all tested positive for drugs and the deaths have been ruled as overdose,” said Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
Future Music Festival’s statement:
Ravers didn’t have the chance to experience sets by world-class names such as Eric Prydz, Brodinski, Porter Robinson and Baauer. However, attendees who planned on all three days saw the likes of Deadmau5, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz and many more. Details on refunds will be announced this week all FMF attendees should be regularly checking the festival’s official webpage for updates.
