Next month, Seafoxes will be taking over North America and you better prepare. Never heard of Galantis? Let me introduce you to the duo, created by Christian Karlsson (a member of Miike Snow), and Linus Eklow, (aka Style of Eye). Their debut single “Smile,” brings a breath of fresh air for dance music and their debut show will take place at this years Coachella. Following their debut, the duo will hit the road and travel to six different cities in North America.

Here are five reasons why YOU should catch one of their shows:

1. Fresh & Original Sound

It’s safe to say that there are at least 100 articles circling the internet every week, complaining about how generic dance music has become. Tracks become overplayed, artists conform to the mainstream sound, and the scene becomes static. Galantis forged their own path. Their sound is so unique and refreshing it becomes undeniable to the ear. All of their tracks carry an uplifting feeling and blend of unique sounds. Their second single, “You,” flawlessly mixes catchy vocal edits and piano riffs.

2. Versatility 

Their debut single, “Smile,” created some major buzz. Some of dance music’s most influential leaders showed support including Kaskade, Pete Tong, and Diplo. Once artists began remixing the track, it displayed how versatile their sound truly is. Take a moment to imagine how crazy their live set will be and let it just sink in.

3. Debut EP

Galantis’ self-titled EP will be released on April 1st and their tour shortly follows on the 12th. Those tracks will be so fresh. Fans at Coachella will be the first ones to hear those sounds live. Can you imagine the feels? Their infectious sound is going to blow up this festival season.

4. No Boundaries Approach 

Music videos provide the cinematic interpretation of artist’s songs. When I first heard “Smile”, the image in the video wasn’t what played out in my imagination, but they still showed me something unforgettable. They pushed the boundaries and really created some shock value. This video made me more obsessed with their persona.

5. Seafoxes

By far one of the most unique personifications I have seen in a while. You can catch this mystical, feline creation on all of their singles artwork. I will take every Seafox in every color, please!
