Governors Island, just a short ferry ride away from South Street Seaport in New York City, was once again the place to be this past Saturday. Zack Roth, Blake Jarrell, Jerome Isma-Ae, Gareth Emery, and Ben Gold hit the decks, creating another unforgettable experience presented by Made Event. Luckily, the weather held out as the skies stayed blue and beautiful until the memorable sunset shed radiant light onto the sanded outdoor venue.
From 4pm – 8:30pm, Roth, Jarrell, and Isma-Ae vigorously kicked off the evening with their high-energy dynamic sets, as they got the crowd amped for Gareth’s two and a half hour set. As Gareth finally made way to the DJ booth, fans repping the “trance family” of New York were more than eager to hear what Gareth was about to drop; and I don’t think anyone in the crowd was disappointed that evening.
Gareth was smiling throughout his entire set as he dropped banger after banger, and the whole crowd raged on. When he dropped Porter Robinson’s “Language” into Ben Gold’s remix of his original track, “Toyko”, the crowd was so hyped (check out the official music video of “Language” here, which was released just a week ago). The unexpected spurts of colored confetti and a champagne shower from Gareth undoubtedly pleased the crowd. He absolutely killed it all night and finished his set off with a favorite, “Concrete Angel” as everyone sang along to the featured vocals by Christina Novelli. Ben Gold hit the decks after Gareth, topping the night off with a captivating one hour set.
The 8 hours of non-stop, high-energy, riveting beats dropped throughout these 5 artists sets was so electrifying. For those who were unable to make it out to Governors Island on Saturday, a live stream of the entire event was broadcasted live via YouTube on Gareth’s official YouTube Channel, which is still currently available for viewing. I highly recommend tuning in to catch a glimpse of this amazing night when you have the chance!
