Up-and-comer Notaker recently dropped an incredible remix of Gareth Emery’s “Saving Light” that will surely put him on the dance music map. The original track was released early in 2017 to massive acclaim, reaching #1 on Beatport’s Overall Chart. Though a high energy song, “Saving Light” carries a heavy but important message about bullying, and features powerful, haunting vocals by Haliene to match.
Both the original as well as Notaker’s take on “Saving Light” were released via Canadian label Monstercat, which has seen a number of high profile releases this year. Notaker’s remix is truly unique, adding some glitchiness and slowing it down to have more of a groovy vibe. The moments after the drops feel almost funky, turning “Saving Light” from a classic trance track into something futuristic that truly defies a handy genre label.
This track definitely has us eager to see what else Notaker has up his sleeve. He has an EP due out in September, and if “Saving Light” is any indication, we’ll be seeing – and hearing – great things from this producer in the future.
