UK-based quartet, Glass Animals have just released their anticipated Gooey EP, and it is sure to satisfy the Indie-loving side that lies deep within a good portion of dance music fans. Comprised of members Dave Bayley, Drew MacFarlane, Edmund Irwin-Singer, and Joe Seaward, Glass Animals have grown to develop a very unique, and distinctive style since their formation back in 2012, when they were one of the first signed artists on the revered Paul Epworth’s label, “Wolf Tone”.
Released on Harvest Records, this five-track EP is a lush coalescence of genres, artfully fusing a funky-electronic style with a pronounced Indie vibe, and even allowing a little bit of RnB shine through at times. Dulcet vocals from artists such as Tei Shi and Chester Watson bring an ethereal air to certain tracks, harmoniously accompanying the arrangements of sultry synth sounds, grooving melodies, and rich, warm bass lines. Some striking remixes from Kingdom, as well as Gilligan Moss can also be found on the EP. Glass Animals have also announced that they will be playing gig in Brooklyn, NY on May 14th, for which you can get tickets here.
