The 10th Anniversary of Global Dance Festival is poised to enchant festival goers with breathtaking scenery at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre and mind blowing electronic music offered by headliners Steve Angello, Knife Party, Above & Beyond, Excision and Zeds Dead. Each day of GDF submits to a different genre with Friday dedicated to house, Saturday to trance and Sunday looks to solidify Denver’s position as the leader in the dubstep movement. The full lineup is available here.
Friday will be Knife Party’s debut show in the Colorado area and possibly the biggest draw for the entire festival. There is no justifiable reason to miss this set. Having just released their latest EP Rage Valley, Knife Party showcased their talent to span different genres like dub step, moombahton and electro. Expect to hear aggressive bass music with non-stop VIP edits and remixes.
On Saturday, don’t sleep on Mord Fustang. He was easily one of the most impressive, high energy sets at Ultra Music Festival. As far as Sunday goes, you can’t be anywhere other than the mainstage all day long. Starting with Figure and ending with Excision, it’s going to be a lot of traumatic bass music so don’t forget your ear plugs at home.
What seems to have gone unnoticed by many is that Zeds Dead will be performing with Omar Linx. If you’re unfamiliar, the two released a collaborative mixtape Victor earlier this year. To date, it’s still one of the best releases that we’ve seen all year.
Tickets for Global Dance Festival 2012 are still available at this time, but will sell out soon. You have the option for single day, weekend passes or single day VIP which can all be purchased here. We will be attending GDF2012 and look forward to seeing you there!
