The Golden Pony and Uplink have joined forces on the feel-good, indie-pop banger, “Feel Like You’re Drowning,” and we are most definitely feeling it.
Brooklynites and others alike are more than familiar with Timothy Monkiewicz and Thomas Murphy, better known as The Golden Pony. While these legends can be name dropped by most for producing wildly successful events for BangOn!NYC, many know and love them for their nu disco flow and killer remixes. This talented duo has reached millions of listeners with their renditions of Rudimental ft. MNEK’s “Common Emotion,” Simon and Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence,” and The Chainsmoker’s “Let you Go,” and more recently Drake’s “Passionfruit” featuring Denham. But just as impressive is their solid roster of original mixes these two continue to build up.
Now, The Golden Pony have teamed up with German due Uplink to deliver their latest original, “Feel Like You’re Drowning,” on Uprise Music. It combines elements that lend itself to being both an indie-pop ballad and festival favorite. Featuring vocalist Dasha Akelin, the track is a true collaboration of both American and European influence; the two duos worked from opposite sides of the Atlantic, meshing various synths and drums of their liking, to create this easy-to-love banger.
