As festival season seems to be settling down in other parts of the country, Arizona’s premier dance music promoter, Relentless Beats, is gearing up to kick off in full force! As of late, we have seen announcements for returning fests, Decadence Arizona, Global Dance Festival Arizona, BOO! Arizona, and of course the newest addition to Relentless Beats’ roster, the inaugural Goldrush Festival.
Goldrush will be taking attendees back to the Wild West this coming November 18-19 at Rawhide Western Town in Chandler, Arizona with a diverse electronic/hip-hop lineup fit for a variety of musical palates.
Recently, we had the opportunity to discuss Relentless Beats latest venture with the founder of AZ’s leading dance music company, Thomas Turner. If you’d like a sneak peek into the upcoming festival, check out our exclusive interview below:
RR – Without revealing too much, can you give us any info on Goldrush Festival’s production, stage designs, and overall setup?
TT – Of course I’m biased, but I think Rawhide’s Western Town is the coolest venue for a music festival that I’ve ever seen. If you’ve never been then you don’t know what an amazing space we are working with. It’s a 100% authentic 1880’s western town that transports you back in time and makes you feel like a part of the Wild West. That being said, you can expect a festival ground that is unlike any other on the planet. Pair that with the typical creature comforts of a modern day festival and it creates an unparalleled experience potential.
RR – Will each stage have its own theme? Can we expect a RBDeep stage?
TT – Absolutely! Each stage will 100% have its own theme & RBDeep will not only be there- it’ll host The Birdhouse Stage curated by Claude VonStroke on Saturday. The next day will be an outstanding lineup featuring Nicole Moudaber, Paco Osuna, Justin Jay, H.O.S.H., and many more.
RR – The lineup thus far showcases more hip-hop compared to other Relentless Beats festivals, what was the process in choosing this diverse lineup of electronic/hip-hop?
TT – As Relentless Beats has grown so has the taste of our fans. People enjoy being entertained and that’s precisely what we aim to do. In the future, you can expect even more diverse musical offerings from us.
RR – Is RB looking to expand and produce more multi-genre fests?
TT – It’s already begun! I can’t reveal too much, but there is a lot on the horizon for our fans.
RR – What has been the audience reaction to Goldrush’s lineup so far?
TT – Absolutely outstanding! People are really enthusiastic about it and we’ve seen a ton of support.
RR – We know you may be busy at work, but is there any artist(s) sets that you plan on catching at the festival?
TT – I actually don’t work at our festivals, but rather enjoy them as a fan would. I’m a big house head, so I’m really looking forward to catching Bart Skils, H.O.S.H., and Camelphat, just to name a few.
RR – What makes Goldrush different/stand out among other RB festivals?
TT – The innate character that the venue lends to the brand is something that is very hard to create and therefore sets it apart from other events.
RR – Attendees are always looking to continue the party, any plans for Goldrush official after parties? If so, any hints on what we can expect, maybe a Turner & Heit set?
TT – Yeah, we’ve been getting a lot of requests to play some DJ sets so planning on doing that soon. And most definitely after parties- again we aim to entertain and that means finishing strong always!
RR – Slightly changing the topic to other Relentless Beats festivals…having attended most of RB’s festivals, we have to ask, what is your favorite RB fest and why?
TT – I guess I would have to say CRUSH. It’s something I came up with 10 years ago and now it’s in many cities by partners I’m proud to have flying the brand. It grows every year and I’m so excited for next February when we fire it up again!
We would like to thank Thomas Turner for taking the time to chat with us and allowing us to dig deep into Goldrush!
