Goldrush Music Festival Artist Spotlight: Leftwing : Kody

Our favorite Wild West themed music festival, Goldrush, returns in less than a month! That means it’s now time to secure those tickets, start planning your western outfits, and most importantly, get to know the talent on the bill.

This year’s lineup features an eclectic mix of artists from both the dance music and hip hop scene, featuring acts like deadmau5, Illenium, Steve Aoki, Deorro, Louis The Child, Kevin Gates, Rich The Kid, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Chris Lake, and more. Goldrush will also be hosting a stage for the house and techno lovers, RBDeep’s The Hideout. This stage will hold all of the hidden treasures of the West including Born Dirty, Claptone, Moon Boots, Prok & Fitch, Sacha Robotti, Yotto, Guy J, Leftwing : Kody, Max Chapman, and the beloved Desert Hearts crew.

Now that you’ve been formally introduced to some of the artists on the roster, meet our must-see duo, Leftwing : Kody. The UK-based pair, Jon Kong and Chris Aidy, have been in the scene since 2012, when they gained almost instant recognition after their first EP, Bump & Flex. Only one year later and they were proclaimed as Mixmag and DJ Mag’s “ones to watch” and nominated for “Best Breakthrough DJ” at the Best Of British DJ Mag awards. 2013 also saw the launch of their highly-acclaimed label, Lost Records. The imprint has welcomed the likes of wAFF, Josh Butler, Detlef, Yousef, Mihalis Safras, and more.

Over the years, the duo has frequently topped the Beatport charts with releases on their own label, as well as the renowned Viva, Truesoul, Mobilee, Knee Deep In Sound, Relief, Kaluki, Moon Harbour, and Toolroom. More recently, Kong and Aidy have been making major waves with the release of their chart-topping anthem, “Snap Back,” on Loco Dice’s Desolat imprint and hit remix of Kelis’ “Milkshake” on Sony.

It’s only been five years since Leftwing : Kody have graced our streaming platforms, but their innovative, fresh house meets techno style has solidified their spot in dance music. After many years of touring and residencies at the notable Fabric in London, Snowboxx Festival, Dubai, Amsterdam, and Solid Grooves in Ibiza, the tech-house power players are finally making their US and Canada debut with the Lost In North America tour. One of their stops includes Goldrush Music Festival at Rawhide Western Town in Chandler, Arizona. The guys will be taking over the decks at the Desert Hearts hosted stage, The Hideout, on Sunday, September 30. We’re saying it now, this is Leftwing : Kody’s year, so save a spot in your schedule for the power duo!
