Gorillaz Fuses Soul, Rock, Pop, Dance, & More Into The Pink Phantom ft. Elton John & 6LACK

Gorillaz, Known for their mind-bending fusions, recently put out episode seven of their amazing Youtube series, Song Machine. While the Gorillaz are no strangers to blending genres, never have they before thrown all of them into one mixing pot so cohesively. This song touches on the soul, it’s downtempo, disco, trap, hip hop, rock and so much more over the course of its duration. However, the elements of each genre are so subtle that most won’t even pick them all up on the first listen. On top of this, the visuals are absolutely stunning, taking you to an immersive new world.

Never would we have imagined Elton John, and 6lack to hop on a track with Gorillaz, let alone the same track. Yet we are so glad they did. Listen to the release and watch the stunning animation below.
