If you didn’t catch Pretty Lights Music artist Gramatik this summer at any number of festivals, you’ll get a chance to bask in his “chilled out, hip-hop driven beats” this fall. Gramatik will be touring alongside Bassnectar, hitting up US cities big and small. Your only assignment leading up to the concert is to study up on his new EP #digitalfreedom. It’s a departure from his signature sound – a mellow fusion of hip-hop, rhythm, blues, and jazz – but still provides an ample serving of that funky love sound you expect from anything tied to Pretty Lights Music.
After listening to Gramatik vs. The Beatles ‘Don’t Let Me Down 2012,’ you’d be stunned to learn that a track like ‘Solidified’ (on #digitalfreedom) comes from the same artist. Gramatik clearly isn’t afraid to change things up and his versatile, newly bass-heavy sound is going to mesh with Bassnectar’s music for a guaranteed back-to-school banger of a tour.
