Wrapping up the international Leave Your Mark Tour in his unofficial hometown of NYC, Gramatik touches down next weekend at the Best Buy Theater for back to back nights of unadulterated funk. Stopping everywhere from California to Germany, it’s only right having one of the biggest tours of Denis’ life wrap up where it all started. New York City has a love affair with Gramatik’s wildly original beats and it’ll be on display in grand fashion for all to see Friday 1/23 and Saturday 1/24.
One of the more unique aspects of the Lowtemp label is that wherever one goes, the entourage almost always follows along for the ride. This two-stop extravaganza will prove no different, as label artists Freddy Todd (Fri), Russ Liquid (Sat), and Branx (Sat) are lending their talents as openers. Other multi-talented artists on the bill for Friday include N’Toko, the fast-rising Haywyre, and Goldfish. In addition to Russ and Branx, Saturday’s opening festivities will be supplied by Marvel Years and highly respected Slow Magic.
The last time Denis played in The City was his TAOR album release party nearly a year ago (1/25/14) at this very same venue. Featuring an open layout and General Admission style, the Best Buy Theater is a perfect venue for movin’ and groovin’ with your fellow Gramaddicts. With the blaring live trumpet of Russ, the signature style of Haywyre, and the old-school meets new-school sampling of Gramatik, this is the definition of a can’t miss show. The music will be outstanding and the crowd will be even better.
