Within a dance music industry that is so heavily dominated by males, JEANIE is a Brooklyn-based producer whose goal is to demolish these gaps with her GRL GANG initiative. Primarily hosted on Discord, GRL GANG is a tightly knit community of female DJs, producers, managers, publicists, artists and more that helps expand the presence of women in dance music.
To celebrate International Women’s Day that recently occurred on March 8, GRL GANG released its debut compilation, RIOT! Consisting of 10 heavy bass tracks from talented artists such as Sippy, MADGIRL, Lizzy Jane, Risik, Jinx, LEVEL UP, and many more, each producer’s sensibilities shine in an empowering and powerful light.
Similar to its community mission, GRL GANG is dedicated to make a positive impact with this compilation. 100% proceeds from the release will be donated to Girls, Inc, a network of nonprofit organizations that empowers girls ages 6-18 in the United States and Canada to be strong, smart and bold through healthy living, academic enrichment and support and life skills instruction.
